I require a monthly tuition of $150.00,
payable by the first of each month. Tuition is based on
enrollment, not attendance, this reserves your lesson time throughout
the year. Any lessons missed during the month (due to vacations,
illness, appointments, etc.) will not affect this price per month. An
additional $25.00 will be added to your tuition if sent after
the 10th. Any charge my bank imposes for “returned checks” will also
need to be passed on to the responsible party. Click for payment options Note:
I would highly recommend setting up an automatic payment through your
bank, or perhaps post dated checks to help emilinate any late
fees. Occasionally, I will have students pay in advance to cover
their tution.
-
There is no Studio Fee. In the past, I used the fee to cover the costs of student's materials, lending
library, computer lab and recitals. This is now part of your tuition, however, students who wish to enter
Competitions, Federation, Student Achievement or AIM programs will need
to pay the required entrance fees.
-
There are no make-up lessons.
However, you may check my web site for a current list of students and
their times that you might want to exchange with (or ask to see a
current schedule, preferably the week before at your private or group
lesson). It will be your responsibility to make any necessary
arrangements for rescheduling your times. Please try to inform me of
the change when possible, so I can prepare the appropriate lesson
material.

A two week
notice must be given if you are planning to quit. Otherwise a cancellation fee of $50.00
will be charged.

The monthly
tuition entitles the student to three private (one half-hour) lessons
and one (one hour) group class per month. If you feel you need a little
extra help with your skills, I would recommend some time using my
online computer lab or download some recommended apps for your tablet
or phone. These are wonderful tools to help you develop your talents and skills.
When a
student's particular lesson day comes five times during a given month,
they will attend only four lessons. I will keep the student informed as
to which lesson they will miss during the month (if I haven't told you not to
come, please come). I usually save the fifth lesson for
holidays occurring in other months (check your current schedules in
your course book or online at KenFoster.com). The tuition, however,
will always remain the same.

During the
summer months (June, July, August), your schedules will change. Private
lessons will typically be on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning,
group lessons will be on Monday mornings. I will start at 9:00am and
teach throughout the day. I will retain your school-schedule times
(Sept-May) for those students who do not discontinue. Some years I may
offer summer camps in lieu of private lessons; these are designed to
cover a vast amount of material in a short amount of time. Tuition will
remain the same.
-
Please
remember to bring all of your materials, including assignment books,
notespellers, tapes, solos, etc. The time is valuable; please don't
waste any by not being prepared.
-
Remember that
your progress is totally dependent on the hours you practice each week.
The more you
practice, the more you will want to practice. Daily
practice is always better than cramming before a lesson, your retention
and skills will improve with consistent daily practice.
-
On rare
occasions, I may need to reschedule your lesson time. Please remember
that a rescheduled time is as important to attend as your regular time.
You will be responsible for that time.
-
Be on time to
your lessons.

Recitals
are required of all students. This is a great opportunity to
demonstrate your new skills and talents. On occasion, I will provide a group
or sequenced synthesizers to accompany you. There will be one to two
major recitals a year, as well as opportunities for students to perform
in their group class. Recitals typically last less than an hour and replace
the private lessons for that week.
Parents
~ you are always welcome to attend your child's private lessons, the
only exception would be the group classes - this is partly do to the
amount of space available and to help develop camaraderie and
friendships among other students of similar ages and interests. If you
are interested in what I teach during group, you might consider signing
up for the adult group class. Thanks
