Ken Foster











        Ken Foster received his Bachelor of Music and post graduate education from the University of Utah, BYU and the Sound Column Companies in Jazz Theory and Composition, Jazz & Classical Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy and Recording Production. (& from years of experimenting, improvising, practicing, & performing)


                    He has also studied with some of the most brilliant performing and creative musicians of our time including Ted Johnson, Low Farr (Julliard), Eileen Sherrin, Shelly Hide, Dr. Jay Welch, Henry Wolking (National Jazz Association), Dr. Romero Cortez (two time ASCAP composer winner), Dr. Paul Pollei (founder of Gina Baucheur Competition), Bruce Reich and others.

                    He has written extensively for TV, Film, Theater, and Video, Producing music for PBS, education videos, documentaries, commercials (receiving Gold & Silver Advertising Awards of Excellence), infomercials, theater, and film. Including : Tails of the Rails, Trail of Dreams, Legacy West, Great Silver Mine Adventure (in Park City), Probing the Genetic Universe with Leonard Nemoy, Lean & Free 2000, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Out of Step (Feature Films Production), First Security Banks, KSL-Prime Time Access, Small Business Administration, Nuskin International, numerous Church videos and films, and many other commercials and productions. He has helped produce many private label CD's as well as his own, which are now available through Foster Music Publications.

                    Ken has taught privately  for over 35 years using some of the most current teaching and computer technologies available. His courses have been thoroughly tested with over a thousand students over the years.  He is also very active in the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), and the UMTA (Utah Music Teachers Association) serving in the presidency of his chapter a number of times. Eminently qualified, he lectures regularly at schools, colleges, and chapters and conventions of the Music Teachers National Association. 

                    Ken is also a member of the Piano Technician Guild, tuning, regulating and repairing pianos from spinets to concert grand's.  His understanding of the mechanics of the piano, and what a performing artist needs in both touch and sound, brings an unsurpassed  quality and precision to his work.

                    Ken is also an active piano artist, performing regularly as a soloist, studio musician, and with his Trio. Members of his band have performed with Donny & Marie Osmond, Osmonds-Next Generation, Roy Clark, The Letterman, Andy Williams, Anna Connie, Johnny Ray, Regis Philbin, Helen Forrest, Sherie Lewis, Pied Pipers, Dennis Day, Sunshade & Rain, Robert Peterson, Statler Brothers, Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz as well as performing on the main stage of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with David Osmond, Murray Art Center, Club Manhattan and numerous other productions, dances, concerts, conventions, and  pageants.
